Computers Ruin Quality Sleep (video)

Quality sleep is an essential requirement for a healthy mind and body.  Lack of sleep has been linked to decreased memory and mental function, increased risk of chronic disease, as well as causing weight gain.  New research is showing that many of the electronic devices we use today are having a serious affect on our ability to have a good nights sleep.

From the information in the video it seems obvious that the best way to avoid melatonin suppression is to dim the lights and unwind with spending time with loved ones, or even reading from a paper book.  If you still feel the need to use your electronic devices you can look into the f.lux app that can be installed on your computer, tablet, etc.  You can also look into wearing blue light blocking glasses that will help with not only electronic devices but also the lighting in your house.  Two recommended brands of these glasses are Uvex and Solar Shield.

The subject of sleep is one of the topics that we speak about in the Think By Design seminar, for seminar schedule and online bookings click here.
